Affordable Rehearsal Space for Rent in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Rehearsal Rates for non-profits and independent artists.
$16 per hour for movement rehearsals.

$25 per hour for group rehearsals with more than 20 people.

In the calendar below choose the number of hours you need then the first date you'd like to rent.

You will see available start times based on the number of hours selected.

Choose a time to schedule and a drop down menu will give the choice to select, select and find more dates, or make this a recurring rehearsal.

When you are finished you will be directed to payment. Payment must be completed at the time of rehearsal or you will not be confirmed.

$35 per hour for non-profit dance classes - 2 hour minimum.

Due to sound restrictions from our neighbors we cannot accommodate tap, heels, and hard-soled shoes.

Street shoes are not allowed. If you have dance sneakers make sure they are clean. Ballet shoes are fine.
Absolutely no rosin.

You can bring yoga mats but we don't allow storage.

• There is a 2 hour minimum for ALL bookings.

• OAS has a strict 5 day cancellation policy.

• Payment is due at the time of booking.
  NOTE: Your rental is not confirmed until payment is received. OAS does not accept reservations less than 24 hours before your start time.

• Please end your rehearsals on time.

• Please return the bathroom key card to the top of the shelf.

• Please please bring food garbage out with you and throw it away in the hallway trash located by the bathrooms.these policies:

• No street shoes. Please leave them by the door when you enter.

• No tap shoes (neighbors). No heels. No hard soled shoes.

• Music shouldn’t be at a volume that disturbs neighbors.

• Make sure that you have turned off the heat/air and lights when you leave, and close the windows.

• Lock the studio door and put the key in the lock-box!

• if you are working with interesting materials, you must have pre-approval. Examples: bringing soil or paint or 26 pounds of blueberries.
  We love multidisciplinary art so just talk to us!

• No live music without prior approval, we want to accommodate if possible.

• Never, ever, under any circumstances bring glitter, or something with glitter attached to it, or anything resembling or behaving like glitter, into the studio.
  You will be fined $100 and possibly banned from the studio.

• You MUST be 18 years of age to book space or be accompanied by an adult. Make art! This is not a play space, it is an art space.

• If you damage the floor, you will be assessed for the damage and charged for the repair.

• Open Arts Studio is an accessible space. The building is ADA compliant. Please contact openartsstudioinc@gmail.com with any questions.

• Absolutely no rosin.

• No animals, no pets.

• You are responsible for leaving the space as you found it.

• No smoking - anything.

• No alcohol.

• No open flames or smoke machines.

• Do not climb in the window sills.

• OPEN ARTS STUDIO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY BOOKING FOR ANY REASON.

Night and Weekend Renters:

The building & elevator might be locked. To get in you must pick up the building key card at the grocery store downstairs called Bridge Fresh. Ask for the dance studio card at the counter. This key card is for the front door and elevator. You MUST return it to the store after your rehearsal. There is a $50 card replacement fee!
