Laura Peterson Choreography

Laura Peterson’s new work Beyond, is about the wild weather patterns caused by climate change, and the visual logic of spiral galaxies Supported by Brooklyn Arts Council in 2025-2026..

Peterson is a NYC-based dance artist creating visually arresting installations and rigorous choreography. Her performances have included large scale paintings, 1000 sq ft of living lawn, 16 ft tall paper sculptures, and other giant structures.

Open Arts Studio Company is a pre-professional dance company in Brooklyn.

In April 2025 we toured to Rowan University to perform a new work by Paule Turner, Choreographer and Chair of Department of Theater and Dance at Rowan University.

We have been open since 2021 thanks to you. During the last four years, Open Arts Studio launched a new creative space for dances, theater and music, low and no-cost youth programs and classes, and supported the development of countless new works. We have enacted ‘access for all’ through our programs, and have seen meaningful impact on young artists, dancers, and musicians, and their futures.
